As we are having to do maintenance to our cold store I can no longer take orders for frozen berry until January.

Harvest has started here at Devereux farm and the first of our sea buckthorn is now in the cold store for sale. Like last year, the supply is limited and I expect stocks to last through to January. I still have the frozen whole sea buckthorn berry that I imported from Latvia and will continue to offer this so that i can provide you with stock throughout the year.

Sea Buckthorn for Health
Sea buckthorn is well known for its health benefits and the berries contain over 190 different micro-nutrients including vitamins, minerals, omega oils (including 3,6,7 and 9) and polyphenols. They are also packed with fibre.
The berries in their frozen form contain all 190 nutrients so they are good for all, especially:
IMMUNE SYSTEM – Frozen berries are RICH in Vitamin C levels. Indeed, they have 10x the amount of an orange! The berries are frozen quickly after harvest so there is minimum nutrient loss and its antioxidants also preserve its Vitamin C levels. (if not frozen, Vitamin C reduces by about 30% after 3 months storage – but still high even then!) Antioxidants, Vitamins A & E are also very important for good immunity.
GUT HEALTH – Fibre & Antioxidants in the whole berry nurture our gut bacteria which have many health benefits from supporting a strong immune system, helping our mood, reducing allergy and protection from chronic inflammation.
SKIN HEALTH –
Omega 7 keeps skin hydrated, increases skin cell turnover and protects against bacterial infection.
Omega 6 boosts blood circulation to the skin, reduces inflammation in the skin and helps its elasticity
Antioxidants for cell repair
Carotenoids (used to make Vit A) and Vit E are both key nutrients for skin health (they have an antioxidant function and help hydration)
IRON ABSORPTION – Vitamin C, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin A all help to absorb iron from plants as they convert it into a form we can absorb more easily.

When do we harvest and why do we freeze them?
Freezing berries is the best way of preserving them after harvesting which takes place in July, August and September each year. As soon as they are harvested they are transported to our cold store on the farm and they sit there until you order from us. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Our berries are sent by overnight courier with APC so they arrive to your door in perfect condition. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO OVERNIGHT DELIVERY OPTION AT THE WEEKEND SO IF YOU ORDER ON THURSDAY EVENING OR FRIDAY WE WILL SEND YOUR COURIER SERVICE ON MONDAY. Apologies for any inconvenience.

The quality of the berries is simply the best! I’ve been eating these berries all my childhood and never had any colds. Just want to strengthen and enhance my immune system as these berries contain over 190 nutrients and phytonutrients, they also have gut repairing properties which help to keep your digestive system healthy.
